It’s January 6th. 6 days into the new year. How are those New Year’s resolutions going?
The new year brings a lot of hope and renewed motivation to people. It allows them to reflect on the year, where they are and what they would like to improve on.
Of course, we all know we should be doing this on a regular basis, not just at the turn of the calendar. But there’s something about January 1st that brings it out of most of us.
You may have started something new on January 1st. Or restarted something that you had previously given up on. How’s it going?
It’s January 6th, 6 days into the new year and a lot of you have already set aside something that only 6 days ago, you were really excited about. Why is that? It was obviously important to you 6 days ago. What happened?
It’s time to stop quitting everything you start. Stick with something. Anything. Figure out what you want to improve on and make a list or 1-3 things you will do everyday to make it happen. Don’t stop until you accomplish your goal.
January 1st is just another day. Monday is just another day. Start today. Make a list of what you need to do tomorrow, get up and attack the day. Win the day.
You have one life and it is ticking away. Make every day count, starting today. Stop waiting for some future time when you will finally allow yourself to be happy. Start today. And keep going until you’ve reached your goal.
You’ll look back at how much progress you’ve made and you will have earned that slice of happiness. You owe it to yourself to be the best version you can be. One day at a time.
